     Insurance Australia Group is the leading general insurance group, with operations in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and the United Kingdom, providing personal and commercial insurance. IAG listed on Australia Stock Exchange (ASX) in August 2000, under its former name of NRMA Insurance Group Limited. The Group's name and ASX code (IAG, formerly NRM) were changed in January 2002 to better reflect its size, diversity, geographical distribution and aspirations.

     The Group receives annual gross written premium of more than US$6.23 billion for the year ended 30 June 2007. IAG has been assigned a "Strong" Insurer Financial Strength Rating of "A+" from S&P.

     IAG products are distributed both direct to customers through our network of branches and call centres and indirectly through intermediaries, such as brokers and agents. The Group has a workforce of around 16,000 people.

      In Australia, IAG's operations insure more than 5 million cars, 2 million homes, 250,000 businesses and 75,000 farms, and provides workers' compensation services to around 200,000 employers.

In New Zealand, the Group insures around 1 million cars, 580,000 homes, and around 300,000 businesses and rural risks. In United Kingdom, combined the businesses position IAG as the UK's fifth largest motor insurer, the largest motorcycle insurer and the fourth largest broker in the personal lines.
